Starting January 28, 2008, students will have access to a new e-mail solution: PantherMail. This solution is an exciting new system powered by Google. It will provide FIU with a new e-mail solution, as well as a suite of other Google products, that will enable our University community to better communicate, share, and collaborate. Below are some of the things you need to know regarding “what’s changing” in light of this transition. Please be sure to read through this page carefully.
What's Changing:
- Where you login. To access your new e-mail, login through panthermail.fiu.edu
- Your password. For security measures, your password will be reset to your birthdate in the following format: mmddyyyy.
- New look and feel. You will have the ability to take advantage of new functions and features currently not available with our Webmail system. See “New Functions & Features” for more information.
- E-mails Will Not Be Forwarded. Messages in your old Webmail account will not be forwarded to the new e-mail system. The only messages you will see in your Inbox will be from January 28, 2008 and beyond. Any messages sent to you before January 28, 2008 will be available on the old webmail system (webmail.fiu.edu). See “What You Need to Do” for more information.
What's NOT Changing:
- Your e-mail address. Your e-mail address and aliases will remain the same. If your e-mail address is student@fiu.edu now, that is how it will be on the new system too.
