Faculty & Staff > Teaching with Technology> Instructional Design
UTS provides all faculty members (full-time, part-time, visiting, adjunct, etc.) help with designing online course shells and web pages through Instructional Design- the planning process that precedes the actual development of your course or course module. Instructional designers offer free workshops and/or one-on-one coaching at both campuses. They act as consultants and partners in the planning and decision making process. You, the faculty, are usually responsible for developing the course in HTML and/or WebCT. Designers will work with you as closely as you wish, acting as coaches and/or troubleshooters in the development process. In addition, designers may even be able to do some of your development work depending on factors, such as the nature of the project, the timeline, and whether or not funding is available.
