Have a class, meeting or presentation that requires media equipment? UTS can help. Check out laptops, projectors, screens, cameras, camcorders, and other media equipment free of charge. From capital projects to conference rooms, UTS provides project planning and design services for multi-media equipment installations. UTS can also help set-up and support multi-media equipment for your special events (charges may apply).
Here’s How You Do It:
- Click here to find out what type of equipment you would like to reserve from the list of available equipment.
- Contact UTS to reserve the equipment. Employees who would like to check out laptops and/or other equipment must contact UTS at least 48 hours before the pickup date.
- Equipment may be checked out for a maximum of three (3) consecutive days, although special requests will be taken into consideration (i.e. out-of-town conferences, etc.). Equipment cannot be checked out for an entire semester.
- When picking up the equipment, you must present a valid FIU photo ID. See pickup locations below. Faculty may send students to pick up laptops on their behalf provided that:
a. Prior reservations have been made.
b. The student brings a memo typed on FIU stationery and signed
by the faculty member, stating the student's name and PantherID.
c. The student has a valid FIU photo ID.
Equipment checked out to students will be the responsibility of the faculty member who signs the memo.
- We will provide you with a Media Custody Form that must be kept with the equipment at all times.
